B I O

I was born in the cultural capital of Russia, Saint Petersburg. Moving to Montréal at the age of four, I adapted to my new environment, always keeping a curious eye on my surroundings. At the age of fifteen, I began experimenting with still images. In 2016, I obtained my Photography degree from Dawson College. My work has been featured as a finalist in the Smithsonian Photo contest and others.

It started as a fascination with the ability to freeze time. Upon being pressured to specialize, I recognized that through the lens of documentary imaging, I could create visuals combining several mediums: portrait, landscape, fine art and others without the restrictions that those genres alone often imposed. This freedom liberates my approach to documentation and results in still and moving images open to and inspired by the circumstances that are being covered.
